10BR Sleep 28 PALO DURO CANYON Compound+Reunions | House in Canyon
10 Bedroom House in Canyon
Summary:
Book the entire Palo Duro Canyon Base Camp compound. Ten bedrooms and fifteen beds spread across a main home, bunker house, tiny homes, and an airstream, all sitting on one Canyon, TX property right outside Texas' Grand Canyon. Built for family reunions, multi-family canyon trips, wedding parties, and retreat groups that want everyone under the wide Texas sky on a single booking. Outdoor kitchen, BBQ grill, golf views, and an indoor fireplace for cooler evenings.
The Space:
This booking covers our entire compound at 12200 West Country Club Road. Up to 28 guests across ten bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and fifteen beds, distributed across the main home, a bunker-style sleeper, separate tiny homes, and a renovated airstream. Each building is its own self-contained stay, so groups get togetherness when they want it and privacy when they need it.
The main house anchors the property with a fireplace-warmed living room, full kitchen, and dining for the whole crew. A second cabin offers bunk-style sleeping that families with kids and youth groups tend to gravitate toward. The tiny homes and airstream sit further out on the acreage for guests who want their own quiet pocket of stars at night.
Kitchens are equipped with a stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, kettle, blender, cookware, dishes and silverware, wine glasses, baking sheet, and barbeque utensils. A washer and dryer keep longer stays simple. Wireless internet runs throughout, and a laptop-friendly workspace and desk are on hand for anyone working remote.
Outdoor living is the point here. Outdoor kitchen, BBQ grill, outdoor seating, patio, and golf-course views unfold across the property. The wider acreage is set up for the kind of slow mornings and group dinners that get cut short in a hotel. Board games are in the main house for the inevitable storm afternoon or post-canyon wind-down.
The compound is kid-friendly and infant-friendly with carbon monoxide detectors, smoke detectors, a fire extinguisher, and a first aid kit on hand. Ceiling fans, air conditioning, and heating handle every season from a 100-degree July afternoon to a January cold front.
If your group is smaller than 28, ask about booking just the main, just the bunker, or one of the tiny homes or the airstream as a stand-alone stay.
Guest Access:
You will have private access to the full compound across all buildings, the outdoor spaces, parking, and the patio and outdoor kitchen. Self check-in. We send the access details, parking map, and a brief building-by-building orientation a day before arrival so the whole group can split off and settle in.
The Neighborhood:
We sit in Canyon, TX, the town that hugs Palo Duro Canyon State Park. The main park entrance off State Highway 217 is a short drive, which puts you minutes from the rim road, the Lighthouse Trail, and the Pioneer Amphitheatre where the TEXAS Outdoor Musical runs Tuesday through Sunday at 8pm from June through August. Canyon proper has the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum and West Texas A&M University, plus local coffee, BBQ, and Tex-Mex spots within a few miles. Amarillo is a quick drive north on I-27 for the Big Texan Steak Ranch and Cadillac Ranch off I-40. Daytime is canyon country and rim hikes. Nighttime is starlight you only get this far from a big city.
Getting Around:
A rental car is required. Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport (AMA) is the closest commercial airport, a straightforward drive south on I-27 to Canyon, then west on Country Club Road to the property. Lyft and Uber coverage in Canyon is thin and unreliable for a group this size, so plan on at least one vehicle per cabin.
Other Things to Note:
This is a rural property at the edge of the canyon. Expect wide views, real darkness at night, and the occasional jackrabbit or deer at dawn. Cell signal varies by carrier on the acreage, so wifi calling is your friend if you need to take a work call. Wind can pick up in the afternoons, so secure hats, umbrellas, and trash bag lids.
Interaction with Guests:
We respect your privacy. No one is on site full-time. Our team is on call from early morning to late evening Texas time and typically responds within an hour during the day. Message us through the booking platform for anything from a thermostat question to a trail or dinner recommendation in Canyon.
