The Romance of Daufuskie
Depart via ferry from Hilton Head Island embarkation center to discover a no hustle, no bustle, all inclusive, private living space, two story Southern living style home in tranquil piece of heaven neighborhood. Watch the deer, smell the ocean - you only hear the birds and occasional boat horn or golf cart. House has peek-a-boo views and marsh view. You can see the water and common docks upon arriving at the house, and we are close to the ferry and view to Hilton Head Harbor Town area.
Once on Daufuskie, we are a convenient 2 minutes to the ferry (only means of transportation), or use the two golf carts included. Explore the 2.5 x 5 mile island. Play golf on the Robert Trent Jones Designed Signature course at Haig Point with our Signature Golf Membership.
There is much to see and do on this unique island. We are 5 minutes to the beach by cart where you can walk the miles of pristine beach, take horseback trail rides, or travel by golf cart along the historic trail, visit the Billie Burn Museum, go to the Iron Fish Gallery to see the work of Chase Allen who was awarded Martha Stewart’s American Made Artist 2014, and tour the recently opened rum factory. For local dining, there are restaurants to enjoy: The Old Daufuskie Crab Company at Freeport Marina a Burger Boat & Lucy Bell's. There's a general store, endless beaches, horseback riding, tours and more.
Our rental includes golf on the island for the member (you lease our membership). Guests pay a daily fee. There are outdoor pools, unlimited use of lighted tennis courts, beach club and fitness areas. Truly you will think you have gone to a wonderland! Smiles will stay on your faces and you meet people that have settled here and love it. The long term is a period to learn about life on this island.
Enjoy a fully equipped kitchen, high speed internet, cable, dvr, two huge screened in porches and a little view of the water! You can hop back on the ferry to do things on Hilton Head Island or drive to other islands or historic Beaufort or Charleston 1-2 hours away. You can take the water taxi to Harbor Town (not included). The ferry leaves both sides hourly, making your errands doable and every ferry ride is included. Guests are included as well when registered with the front desk.
