Surrounded by Sierra National Forest and close to Yosemite National Park, this adorable chalet has plenty of outdoor space and a cozy interior that sleeps 7 guests nicely, making it ideal for a family getaway in high Sierras. Take a walk down to Bass Lake in the summer, enjoy your meals outdoor at the picnic table, gather around the fire pit, fire up the grill on the deck or soak in the hot tub sipping a glass of wine!
An ephemeral stream partially bounds the property which includes giant sequoia, ponderosa pines, black oak and incense cedar. Close to the miles of trails that lead to Mono Rock, Bass Lake, Goat Mountain or a nearby Ridge Trail, explore the forest or pack up the car, and drive down to the lake for a day of picnicking, water sports, or just laying on a beach, listening to the wind in the trees or nearby waterfalls, enjoying the sun and watching the local eagles. In wintertime, at this elevation, it is not uncommon to get snow and watch the world outside your windows transform into a winter wonderland. Snuggle up, explore, play games, read, take day trips, make memories, refocus, rejuvenate, and relax in this beautifully curated experience.
Guests have access to all part of the house except the garage below that is locked and stocks up the owner's and cleaner's stuff.
Enjoy 180-degree views (or maybe closer to 270-degree views) over beautiful Bass Lake from Mono Rock. Gaze southeast down Bass Lake Reservoir, where tapered evergreen-covered ridges frame it's cool blue water. The far end of the lake looks gorgeous. Resorts and homes in the town of Bass Lake hug the shore on the opposite side of the lake. Forest-covered ridges rise above the lake. Snowy mountain crowns appear in the distance to the north.
Interpretive trails are usually good places to appreciate the finer features of a forest, but they tend to lack grand vistas. This is not the case with Way of the Mono Trail, which rises to a splendid view over Bass Lake, a beauty in the Sierra Nevada Mountains south of Yosemite National Park. Way of the Mono Trail is a 0.6-mile loop with 140 feet of elevation change. Panels along this single-track trail highlight several native trees and detail how the Mono, who were the first tribes to live in this place, made use of the different plants.

Quiet hours start at 9 PM. All fires and outdoor string lights should be off by 9 PM, else there would be penalty of $500.
You can park in front of the front deck (look for a Wooden Bear), and go up the walkway towards the Green Door. Pull the green door towards you and enter the given code on the Schlage lock to open the door inward. The white remote for the lights will be in front on top of the table. Please feel free to light up the string lights as well, the place will look beautiful.
The BBQ Grill is on the other side of the deck, and firepit (propane) is downstairs infront on the open ground surrounded by trees. Its a Fire Hazard Zone - please "Check before your Barn" for permits at San Joaquin Valley Air District website before lighting up the propane firepits.
Hot tub is on the front deck for your use, please use responsibly and clean it up every use so that dirt and debris do not clog the filter. Hot tub is free for you, but if we have to bring the spa guy to clean it then there will be a $100 charge withheld from Security Deposit.
