The Space:
This basement apartment features one bedroom with a queen size bed and large closet, living room with internet-connected TV, and kitchenette. The kitchenette includes a fridge, microwave, induction plate, counter top oven, toaster, coffee maker , and kitchenware. There are in-unit washer and dryer. Street parking (we provide a guest parking permit for short-term parking).
Guest Access:
There is a private entrance to the apartment at the back of the house. you have sole access to the entire basement apartment.
The door features a smart lock which you can unlock directly from your smartphone or through the keypad.
The Neighborhood:
The apartment is very conveniently located near Porter Square, featuring many shops and restaurants nearby. There is an amazing convenience store just one block away.
This is a beautiful neighborhood, very typical of Cambridge. It is a pleasant walk from the apartment to Harvard Square, allowing one to explore the area.
Getting Around:
The apartment is a 7 minutes walk away from the Porter Square T station on the red line.
It is one subway stop, or a pleasant 20 minutes walk, away from Harvard Square to the South, or to lively Davis Square to the North. You can also be downtown Boston within 20 minutes by car or subway from Porter Square.
Other Things to Note:
Keep in mind that this is a basement apartment, so you might hear footsteps above you. Also we ask you be respectful of other tenants and refrain from playing loud music or undertaking noisy activities, especially between 10pm and 8am.
Absolutely no smoking is allowed in the apartment or around the house. No parties or events. Only the declared number of guests allowed in the apartment, please ask me before inviting anyone over.
There is a commuter train railroad near the house, so you might hear a train from time to time. It can be surprising the first time, but the train is quickly gone. There are no trains at night.
There is a $50 replacement fee if you loose the parking permit. Cambridge parking regulations prohibit guest vehicles from remaining in the same spot for more than 24 hours, so you need to move your vehicle every day (it is generally easy to find a spot on the street right in front of the house).
