secluded lodge style home in the woods with a pond on nearly 30 acres of land. Unwind and make memories in our getaway, minutes from Seven Springs, Hidden Valley, Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater, Laurel Hill State Park and Ohiopyle or local wedding venues.
Our home is located on a private, gravel county road. Relax, enjoy a walk around the land, beautiful pond or fishing. Great for retreats, families, reunions. Our hope is to have everything you could need for a fun and comfortable stay
The space
Make yourself at home in the exceptionally large living space which includes 3 bedrooms, a loft with a twin and full bunk, 3 full bathrooms, wet bar, game room and 2 covered patio spaces to enjoy the mountain air. The house comes with a fully equipped kitchen, pantry storage and 3 refrigerator/freezers to allow for plenty of room for food and drink for a large group. Gather around the large farmhouse table with seating for 12 to enjoy a meal together. There are card tables available if needed for additional seating.
Stretch out in front of the propane fireplace, on one of the many oversize sofas or recliners to enjoy your favorite streaming or cable channels or gather together for cards, boardgames or puzzles. All rooms are very large but cozy with comfortable seating and soft blankets as well as plenty of floor space.
For those traveling with babies and toddlers we have a high chair, and 2 pack and plays (one regular size and one small).
Our home is minutes from Seven Springs (8.7 miles), Hidden Valley (10.6 miles), Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater (21 miles), Laurel Hill State Park (4.8 miles) and Ohiopyle (22 miles). The home is also close to wedding venues including The Hayloft, The Barn at Maple Falls, Penn Scenic View and Horizon View Farm.
You may relax in the peaceful surroundings, enjoy a walk through an open field and around the beautiful pond or bring your fishing equipment for some fishing from the bank.
There are two entry areas to catch all the mud, snow, leaves, and gear that come with the many fun activities in the country.
There is also a spring fed pond stocked with bluegill and bass on the property. Our pond is available to a few other members of the small remote community also and we ask that you are respectful of all members of the remote community.
Outside of the property there are many great local hiking spots, swimming areas and waterfalls at the state parks that are detailed in our binder at the house and are less than 5 miles from the house. The Great Allegheny Passage bike trail is also a few miles down the road.
A gas grill will be available in the Spring, 2024.
A fire ring for roasting marshmallows or mountain pies will also be available in the Spring, 2024.
Well behaved dogs are welcome. Please be regardful of the neighbors and do not allow your pet roam without supervision or on to others property.
Other things to note
The road to SERENITY NOW is gravel. High clearance vehicles recommended but not necessary. In the winter months all wheel or 4 wheel drive recommended. There is a large grocery store (Giant Eagle) 13 minutes away (8 miles) and Walmart is about 20 minutes away (12.5 miles). There is a Family Dollar less than 3 miles from the house. There are places to buy beer 10-15 minutes from the house and there is a local brewery 5 miles from the house. Nearest liquor store is about 15 minutes away. The summers get buggy here you may want to bring some bug spray. You also may encounter wildlife. We ask that you do not leave any food or trash outside.
We ask that you stay on the property and do not cross on to any neighboring properties.
Firewood is provided for the fire ring. Please do not bring outside firewood.
There is a generator located on the property in case of a power outage.
