The hosts are designers and have taken the time to meticulously remodel and fully furnish the unit to flow both aesthetically and functionally while maintaining its original 1930s charm. The unit has great natural light and a lot of windows. It has been furnished with all the modern amenities from its mid-century modern furniture to the heated floors in the full bathroom. The kitchen has also just been redone with new stainless appliances and a lot of counter space if you like to cook. The living room has a cozy leather couch, a Smart TV, and a wood-burning stove for those colder winter nights. In the summer it is air-conditioned to keep things cool. The hosts have also curated an eclectic mix of local and modern art and there is free lightning-fast internet for all your online needs. Two of the bedrooms are in the unit and the third bedroom is attached to the unit but down the back stairs with its own 3/4 bathroom - stand-up shower, toilet, and sink.
The neighborhood is extremely diverse and quaint. It's primarily occupied by families, Harvard students, and professors. People are friendly and you can get just about anywhere in the greater Cambridge and Boston areas with just a short walk or bus ride to the Harvard Square Station. If you are driving there is metered street parking or a driveway spot that can be rented for an additional fee if needed.
The building itself is a two-family home and the hosts who are experienced short-term renters live in the unit above. They are hands-off but can be reached as needed and are always happy to give guests a hand or offer advice on what to do or where to eat.
Just around the corner from Harvard University, Mt Auburn Hospital, restaurants, bars, and coffee shops, with great access to public transportation; This cozy basement apartment is fully furnished with comfortable, modern accents. The Unit is located on Mt Auburn Street Between Longfellow & Channing. This is in a safe, friendly, clean, and vibrant neighborhood. Minutes' walk from the Charles River, Harvard Sq Redline, Harvard University, Mt Auburn Hospital, and Huron Village.
