The Lazy Bear is located at The Pinnacle Inn and is perfectly located on the mountain. The Lazy Bear has a Grandfather Mtn/Sugar Mtn view that you can see from your private balcony! Perfect for families with a fully stocked kitchen... along with 2 bedrooms and 2 full baths. The master has a queen sleigh bed & the secondary bedroom has a full bed. Both bedrooms have smart TV's too! Bring some wood for the fireplace for those cold Beech winters... and come in the summer and enjoy the cool temps.
The Pinnacle Inn - The All-Seasons Center is open May to March, closed the month of April, and houses the indoor heated pool, hot tub, dry sauna, wet sauna, and workout equipment. The Pinnacle also has tennis courts and pickle ball courts. Its location is walkable to The Brick Oven Pizzeria, Freds Mercantile, and just a stones throw from the Town of Beech Mountain’s sledding hill and playground. The Beech Mountain Ski Resort is only a 5 minute drive from The Pinnacle... There’s also ample opportunity to enjoy the incredible views around the Pinnacle...So pack up and head to Beech!
You can look out your window or drive just a minute around the corner to see picture-perfect, long-range views all around Beech Mountain. There are plenty of hiking trails around the mountain, with expansive woodlands and gorgeous mountain streams. Local attractions include: The Wilderness Alpine Coaster, Grandfather Mountain and the mile high swinging bridge, and the falls and caverns of Linville. **IMPORTANT** GETTING HERE WITH YOUR CAR IN THE WINTER MONTHS!! We are at the very top of a Beech Mountain and your climb to the top in inclement weather can be very difficult unless you have a 4x4 or All-wheel drive vehicle. We recommend chains and/or cables if you do not have this type of vehicle. THERE IS A FLASHING LIGHT AT THE BASE OF THE MOUNTAIN. THIS WILL ALERT YOU IF YOU NEED TO PUT THE CHAINS/CABLES ON YOUR CAR. We suggest RaysWeather for the most accurate weather in the area.
We are approximately 2 hours from Charlotte and Asheville. We are approximately 25-30 minutes from Boone, Blowing Rock, and the Northeastern Tennessee border.
***Please remember to bring your own firewood if you plan to use the fireplace. In case of inclement weather, an all-wheel drive (AWD) or 4x4 vehicle is required, so please plan accordingly. While a minimum of snow chains may be needed, we strongly recommend AWD when it's snowing.
***You can check in anytime after 4 pm, but please note that we are only available to address any issues until 9 pm. We anticipate a smooth check-in process with all necessary information provided to you, minimizing any potential issues. We recommend checking in before 9 pm for a hassle-free arrival. Thank you for your cooperation.
We provide bath towels, but not pool towels. If you intend to use the resort amenities, please remember to bring a pool towel.
