My place is located in a quiet residential neighborhood of low ranch-style houses with lots of parks nearby. Only half a mile away, you can enjoy affordable food with vegan choices in Vegan N’ Chicken restaurant. There is a great neighborhood convenience store J&A, about a mile away that stays open from early in the morning till late at night. For night entertainment, Ed's place and it's friendly staff await you within easy walking distance.
Getting around
Some of the local sights include Alcatraz (21.6 miles), the infamous high-security island prison that has been turned into a museum. Among its most notorious inmates was the gangster Al “Scarface” Capone. Nearby Tilden Regional Park is one of Berkeley's oldest and most famous parks, with activities like pony rides and carousels, that make it ideal for all the family. You can get there by car, via Wildcat Canyon Rd and San Pablo Dam Rd (10.6 miles).
