Bring your canoe ,kayaks or small row boat to paddle and fish for bass or explore the river. There are 3 islands to explore as well. City Winery is a short paddle upriver. 5 minute car ride to Angry Orchard and 20 minutes to the Shawangunk Ridge and New Paltz. Summary: My husband, dog, and I recently rented this campsite to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The site is absolutely quintessential Hudson Valley beauty, on the bank of the Wallkill River and surrounded by dense forest that offers complete privacy. We had no trouble finding the site, as it was well-marked and upon arrival there is a spot to stop for a map with all the details you need. The owner of the property, Bruce, was the best host. The site was set up and stocked like it was maintained by a 4 star hotel. He gave us a ton of tips on things to do in the area, provided our dog with a life vest for canoeing on the river (which he loved!) and even helped us out with some car troubles. Overall this is a great bang for your buck and the ideal way to spend a weekend escaping the city. We look forward to coming back!
