My family is traveling to Mexico and Chile during my sabbatical, January-March 2024. We are looking to rent out our cheery house in a friendly suburb equidistant from Boston & Providence. It's a wonderful place to live if you are looking for the ease of a suburb but still want to be able to reach the two cities.
Our town is a really great place to live and visit. Our home is centrally located in a friendly town bursting with amenities. We are walkable to a beautiful new, light-filled library open 9 am - 9 pm (until 5 pm Saturdays), the Boston commuter rail, a play ground with grills and picnic areas, a corner grocery & wine shop, elementary school with shaded playground, and local restaurants and pubs. Less than 2 miles away is a fitness center with pool and childcare and hiking trails. There are multiple large grocery and department stores under 10 minutes away.
Our house has everything you need for convenience and fun. The sizable kitchen was remodeled in 2018 and has dishwasher, lots of lighting, counterspace, and cabinets. The first floor has a washer & dryer, hardwood floors, power reclining couch, and TV with DVD player. The large yard includes a 6-person sauna, garden, green house, outdoor dining furniture, flowering trees and bushes, and a climbing structure. On the second floor the 3 bedrooms are carpeted. The master bedroom has a king size bed, couch for napping and reading. The second bedroom has a loft bed. (We put a mattress on the bottom for sleepovers, and it works as a bunkbed.) The third bedroom is used as an office and has a large closet; we could convert it to a bedroom for a longer stay.
The town is a wonderfully friendly and diverse place to be. Parents take turns pushing kids on the merry-go-round and are happy to chat. The community fitness center, recreation department, and library put on lots of free and affordable programming. The ride to Providence is about 40 minutes. It is drivable to Boston, but we always take the commuter rail. A train runs once every hour on the weekdays. We have tandem parking for 3 cars. We have a Prius that we can loan out if there is interest.
