River House Retreat is on a 1/2 acre lot 60 ft from the Wind River, our newly built modern cabin is all about living well. All bedrooms have perfect river views. A large new wrap-around, hardwood deck connects the hot tub and adjoining outdoor HOT shower to the cabin and ADU office/guest house space.
Two bedrooms + loft. The upper bedroom has a full-size bed and a single bed and the downstairs bedroom has a queen, the loft bedroom has a full bed. The ADU/office guest area has a full-size bed. All mattresses are new, organic materials with organic linens 500+ thread count. A good quality bed+linens = good quality sleep!
Two spaces have standing-desk/work/creative project spaces where you can stand or sit.
The kitchen is made for those who love to cook. Italian dual fuel convection range, sharp knives, healthy cookware, conveniently arranged utensils - everything needed to set a beautiful table is available.
The cabin spaces are seamlessly designed to enable work. We have two internet systems DSL and cellular routers to ensure continuity as the cabin is at the edge of the DSL grid. Two standing desks, second monitors for both Apple and PC computers, a Brother high-capacity printer with supplies are at the ready. Note: the internet is good for one maybe two people to be on Zoom at a time. That's the best we have. Download speeds up to 15mbts and upload of 3mbts. It is not lightning fast but it gets the job done.
We allow dogs. There is a large dog door for your four-legged family member(s) and a fenced-in yard with a special area for relief and a big yard for play. We have a large paver patio with a fire pit and outdoor seating. This is surrounded by a flower garden, and a huge lawn for games (cornhole), kids, and pets to play.
Property Notes:
Our property is enclosed with 8ft + fencing for privacy. We have neighbors pretty close on one side of the house. They are respectful, kind people AND sometimes you can hear them when you're outside hanging out on the deck - so know that's a reality. Yup, there are other people nearby. The good news is that we all have an understanding that you can be you and do your thing (go ahead and turn up the stereo and dance a bit) up till 10 pm. Again, UP UNTIL 10 PM! Then after 10 pm, we all quiet down to appropriate levels and show respect for each other's peace, quiet and sleep.
We love the Pacific Crest Trail which runs across (bridge) the Wind River just a mile north of us. There are many PCT sections to explore a bike ride or drive nearby. Waterfalls, lakes are all around our little cabin. We love exploring our backyard (The Gifford Pinchot National Forest) hiking, cross country skiing, berry picking, kayaking, SUP'ing, and then coming back to our cabin to soak, read, cook and sleep to the sound of the river. Every aspect of our cabin was intentionally designed to go out into the wilderness, play in snow or water, hike, and then come back to comfort and rejuvenation.
Organic beds and bedding. Chef's kitchen. Healthy cleaning supplies and cooking wares. The pure cold water from our well tastes amazing. Full gym. River views from every room. Workspace with full internet (can be challenging in moments we are on the edge of broadband). Standing desks. Big yard. Full supply of lawn games-cornhole, badminton. Board games - too many to name. Puzzles - we love them. Video collection - digital AND DVD collection that has something for everyone. Book collection - we have something for everyone who loves to read. We also have guide books for all the trails around the house. Dog doors and full enclosed fencing for your furry loved ones to be safe and free.
The cabin was designed as a place to refresh your soul, connect, and be surrounded by mountains, forest and wild rivers. Reading - games - hiking - exercise - soaking - playing games - cooking - having deep healthy sleep in quality beds/bedding. We also have pretty decent internet given we are on the edge of bandwidth. Not good for gaming or more than one Zoom meeting at a time.
